Jeremy Allen White has been training—this time, not as a chef at the ICE but as a heartland rockstar.
In a conversation with Deadline at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, White admitted he was hesitant to talk about the Bruce Springsteen biopic before starting work on it. However, he expressed deep gratitude for the guidance and support from the creative team and the iconic rock star himself.
“I’m so excited to start this thing,” The Bear actor said. “We’re going to start pretty soon. You know, I don’t want to talk about it too much. It feels wrong before getting there and starting the thing.”
He continued, “But I can say I’ve got a really beautiful team of people helping me and Bruce has been really lovely and supportive and available, which has made this whole process an extra joy. His support and Jon Landau, his management support, also has a large role in the film. So I feel really lucky.”
Scott Cooper’s film from 20th Century Studios, inspired by Warren Zanes' book of the same name, explores Bruce Springsteen’s lengthy process of creating his iconic 1982 album Nebraska. The journey began while Springsteen and the E Street Band were working on the hit record Born in the USA. Both Springsteen and Landau, who may be played by Jeremy Strong, are actively involved in the film’s production.
