A vibrant new art festival, Artober, has hit Tokyo this October, bringing an 11-day program filled with exhibitions, artist showcases, and immersive experiences.
Running from October 4 to October 14, the 11-day Artober program promises scores of exhibitions, artist showcases, events, and experiences, all meant to celebrate Tokyo’s dynamic contemporary creative scene.
Organized by the team behind Artedly, a monthly meet-up for the city’s creative community, Artober will unfold at Hibiya Okuroji and feature the works of over 40 exhibiting artists and photographers from the Artedly community and more. Attendees can look forward to an impressive lineup of talks and showcases from industry figures and international exhibitors.
Here is the list of programs you can still catch starting today:
- Thursday, October 10: Discover El Salvador
Enjoy an evening of Salvadoran art, coffee, and traditions, with coffee tasting and a special photographic exhibition, courtesy of the Embassy of El Salvador. Free entry.
- Friday, October 11: Artedly October Meet-up
Artedly’s monthly meet-up for creatives to connect, share ideas, and collaborate during Artober. RSVP to join the relaxed social event.
- Saturday, October 12: Plush Skeleton Painting & Trivia Night
During the day, Kokopelli hosts a Plush Skeleton Painting Workshop, perfect for artists of all levels to express their creativity. In the evening, PremierTwo hosts a Team Trivia Night, where 12 teams of 4 will compete for exciting prizes. All proceeds support Genkiness, a Tokyo-based project offering free art classes for children.
- Sunday, October 13: Short Film Showcase
Explore a curated selection of short films featuring directors, producers, and actors from the Artedly community. This showcase highlights collaborative creativity and diverse storytelling. Stay tuned for the full lineup, and engage with the artists involved!
